We are pleased to announce that Chase Harper G entered this world at 9:40 am, on October 19, 2007, weighing in at a light 6 pounds, 7 ounces, and a long lean 20 inches tall (he gets it from his parents!).
Mom, Dad and Baby are all doing well. Riley (the Wonderbeagle) can't wait to meet his new little brother.

I'm sure if you've been keeping up w/ wifey's blog, you know I now have a CPAP machine that helps me sleep. So far, 4 nights and I feel noticeably different. It's something else. Anyway, thanks for continuing to check in, even though I haven't posted in about 2 months.
Here's a special little treat for ya: me at the sleep study.

In keeping with my expression of my level of satisfaction with the performance of the various months with respect to the weather, I am writing now to say that I am a big fan of March.
I just opened the windows in my office, and, man is it sweet out there!
Well done, March. Keep up the good work!
(February gets an honorable mention here for throwing us at least a couple of snow storms)

On this, the third anniversary of my brother's death, my dear Grammy passed away this morning from heart failure several days after undergoing surgery to repair a severe curvature in her neck.
Those of you who were lucky enough to know her know she will be missed...

On Thursday, I went in to the office of a lawyer with whom I've been working for the last several months in order to meet with a couple of new clients. After meeting with the clients, the lawyer informed me that he'd like to bring me on as a part of the firm. This, of course, was great news. It will give us a steady base income, which will be sufficient to meet our monthly needs, and thus, enable us to budget to get out of debt (which we think we can do in about a year). The deal we have worked out will also allow me to earn potentially twice as much, provided I work for it, which I am certainly ready to do.
Most importantly, I am going to be back in a law firm setting, where I will have the support I have been wanting, and the mentorship from the partners to advance my litigation capabilities.
Anyway, here's my new office:
And, here's my home office:

I pretty much gave up on blogging. Jessi said she left me a comment, but I didn't see it. Then, the other day, she left me a comment again. Only this time, she noticed that it required my approval. She figured out that I had turned on my comment moderation. Which, I did. I remember doing it. I just misunderstood what that meant. Evidently, I had it set up so that I had to approve all comments before they would post. However, I had disabled the email notification that would have told me that I had new comments to approve/disapprove.
So, just now, I logged in to my Blogger account, and went to the moderate comments section...only to find some nearly 50 comments that I had to approve or reject! Most of them were spam, for some reason, but I had about 18 legitimate comments from you guys!
Seriously, it just about made my day.
Well, here's my way of saying I'm sorry... Enjoy these fabulous pictures I took this morning while stuck on 450 on my way to discuss a new legal opportunity:

This is the weather right now!
Don't get me wrong, I am digging the 73 degree day! And, it's sunny, to boot! However, I'd like January to recognize that this is, traditionally, a winter month. Generally, in the Mid-Atlantic Region, winter is associated with cold weather, possibly snow, ice storms, etc..
I'm willing to cut you some slack, January, as I realize that you are the first month of 2007. I can appreciate that it may take you some time to get your bearings. However, please understand that there is a time for this kind of weather, but that's usually not until April or May. Frankly, I feel like I've been gypped out of a good winter for the last few years, now. I mean, last year there was that one snow storm that gave us like a foot, but that was pretty much the only time it snowed, and it didn't stick around for very long. Now, I know that wasn't exactly your fault. And, believe me, February is in for some trouble, too, if he doesn't shape up this year.
Look, I'm just saying, I'm going to enjoy this day, go to the park and play some ultimate frisbee. But, I am going to require some snow pretty soon. I can't tell you how long it's been since I've seen a white Christmas (I know, I know, that's December's deal...), but usually we're seeing our first snow here sometime in October or November. The fact that it's January and, not only has it not snowed yet this season, it is 73 degrees outside only adds insult to injury. I don't know if you are getting some peer pressure from those spring and summer months...It's ok to be cold. Some people actually like it that way.
Hey, all I am saying, January, is be yourself.
Here's a pic showing off it's color accenting feature:
AND, Dad bought Jessi and I each one of these:
My mactop (pictured above) is presently in the shop over at macmedics.com getting its new 160GB hard drive installed. I should hopefully have it back on Monday or Tuesday. Thank goodness for Jessi also having a mactop, or I would be in (more) serious withdrawal right now!
